May cause marked drowsiness—avoid driving/operating machinery. Use with caution in glaucoma, enlarged prostate/urinary retention, asthma/COPD, epilepsy, liver disease and elderly patients. Rapid IV administration may cause hypotension. Not a substitute for adrenaline in anaphylaxis; use only as adjunct therapy. Inform doctor about all medicines and allergies before use.
Drug Interactions
Alcohol and other CNS depressants (sedatives, opioids, benzodiazepines) increase drowsiness, MAO inhibitors may enhance anticholinergic effects, other anticholinergics (e.g., tricyclic antidepressants) increase dryness/urinary retention, antihypertensives may increase risk of low blood pressure
