Uses & Benefits
Relief and prevention of bronchospasm in bronchial asthma, COPD (chronic bronchitis/emphysema), wheezing and shortness of breath due to reversible airway obstruction
How It Works
Levosalbutamol is a short-acting selective beta-2 adrenergic agonist (SABA). It relaxes bronchial smooth muscle, leading to bronchodilation and improved airflow, providing quick relief from wheeze and breathlessness.
Directions for Use
For inhalation via nebulizer only. Use the respule contents as directed by a doctor; usually nebulized and inhaled through a mouthpiece/mask. Do not swallow or inject. If dilution is advised, use sterile normal saline. Use at fixed intervals and do not exceed prescribed frequency.
Schedule H medicine—use on prescription only. Use with caution in heart disease, arrhythmias, hypertension, hyperthyroidism, diabetes, seizure disorders, and in patients with low potassium. Overuse may worsen breathing or cause paradoxical bronchospasm—seek medical help if symptoms worsen or relief is inadequate. Monitor potassium if high doses/frequent nebulization or when used with diuretics/steroids. Not a substitute for inhaled corticosteroid controller therapy in persistent asthma.
