How It Works
Ascorbic acid is an essential water-soluble vitamin and antioxidant. It is required for collagen synthesis and tissue repair, enhances absorption of non-heme iron, and helps protect cells from oxidative damage.
Directions for Use
Chew the tablet completely before swallowing. Generally 1 tablet once daily or as directed by a doctor; preferably after food if it causes gastric discomfort. Do not exceed recommended dose.
Use with caution in patients with history of kidney stones, kidney disease, or hemochromatosis/thalassemia (may increase iron absorption). High doses may cause diarrhea and increase risk of oxalate kidney stones; avoid prolonged high-dose use unless prescribed. Diabetics should note some chewable formulations may contain sweeteners/sugar; check label. Stop and seek medical advice if allergic reactions occur.
