Bacterial infections of the external ear (otitis externa) and infected ear eczema/inflammation where susceptible organisms are likely; helps relieve pain, swelling and itching associated with infection.
How It Works
Neomycin and polymyxin B are antibiotics that kill susceptible bacteria by interfering with bacterial protein synthesis (neomycin) and disrupting the bacterial cell membrane (polymyxin B). Hydrocortisone is a corticosteroid that reduces local inflammation, redness, swelling and itching.
Directions for Use
For otic use only. Use as prescribed by a doctor. Typically, instill the prescribed number of drops into the affected ear 3–4 times daily; keep the ear facing up for a few minutes after instillation. Avoid touching the dropper tip; do not use in the eyes. Use for the full course and do not exceed duration advised.
Side Effects
Burning or stinging in ear, itching, redness, irritation, dryness, rash, allergic contact dermatitis
Warnings & Precautions
Schedule H: use only on prescription. Do not use if allergic to neomycin/aminoglycosides, polymyxins or corticosteroids. Do not use with a perforated eardrum, ear tubes, or suspected middle-ear infection unless specifically directed by an ENT specialist (risk of ototoxicity). Prolonged/overuse may cause fungal overgrowth or resistant infection. Stop and seek medical advice if severe irritation, rash, worsening pain, discharge, or hearing changes occur. Use with caution in children; avoid prolonged use.

Drug Interactions
Other ototoxic medicines (e.g., aminoglycosides such as gentamicin/amikacin) may increase risk if the eardrum is not intact; concurrent topical ear products may increase irritation—use only if advised. Systemic interaction is unlikely with intact ear canal.
Storage Instructions
Store at or below 25°C, protected from light and moisture. Keep bottle tightly closed. Do not freeze. Keep out of reach of children.
