Gapitas L Gel contains Gabapentin + Lidocaine and is used for this medicine is used. Prescription required.

This medicine is used in the treatment of nerve pain, diabetic neuropathy, pain after shingles, fibromyalgia, epilepsy, minor injuries, wound care and first aid.

This medicine combines 2 active ingredients: Gabapentin and Lidocaine. Gabapentin calms the over-active nerve signals that cause burning, shooting and tingling pain. Lidocaine supports the care of a minor injury or wound.

Clean and dry the affected area, then apply a thin layer and rub it in gently. Wash your hands before and after use, unless your hands are the area being treated. This is for use on the skin only — do not swallow it. Follow the dose and the duration written on your prescription.

This medicine causes drowsiness and unsteadiness, particularly when you start it or the dose goes up. Do not drive or operate machinery until you know how it affects you. Never stop it suddenly. Stopping abruptly can cause anxiety, sleeplessness, sweating and, in people taking it for epilepsy, fits. Your doctor will taper it. Tell your doctor about any change in mood or any thoughts of harming yourself. The dose is usually built up slowly from a low starting point — follow the schedule your doctor gave you rather than jumping to the full dose. Pregabalin comes under Schedule H1 from 16 November 2026 and will then need a prescription and a pharmacy register entry. For external use only, unless the pack says otherwise. See a doctor for a deep, dirty or heavily bleeding wound, an animal bite, or any wound showing signs of infection. Check that your tetanus cover is current after any dirty or penetrating wound.

Opioid painkillers, alcohol, sleeping tablets and antihistamines all add to the drowsiness, and the combination with opioids can dangerously slow breathing. Antacids reduce the absorption of gabapentin — separate them by a couple of hours. No significant interactions are expected.

Store below 30°C, away from direct sunlight. Close the cap tightly after each use. Keep out of the reach of children.
