Gardenal 60 Tablet contains Phenobarbitone (Phenobarbital) 60 mg. Prescription required.

Epilepsy and seizure disorders for prevention and control of seizures as advised by a doctor

Phenobarbitone enhances inhibitory GABA activity and suppresses excessive neuronal firing in the CNS. This increases seizure threshold and reduces seizure propagation.

Take exactly as prescribed, often once daily at night or in divided doses. Do not discontinue abruptly; dose should be tapered under medical supervision. Avoid driving if sleepy.

Drowsiness, dizziness, sedation, unsteady gait, impaired concentration, nausea, rash, mood changes

May cause dependence; do not misuse. Sudden stopping may cause withdrawal and seizures. Risk of severe skin reactions; seek medical attention for rash/blistering. Caution in liver impairment, breathing disorders, porphyria, elderly and debilitated patients. May reduce effectiveness of hormonal contraceptives.

Alcohol, benzodiazepines, opioids and other sedatives, oral contraceptives, warfarin, corticosteroids, doxycycline, antiretrovirals, azole antifungals, valproate, phenytoin/carbamazepine
