Momate S Ointment

Momate S Ointment contains Mometasone (0.1% w/w) + Salicylic Acid (5% w/w). Prescription required.

Treatment of inflammatory and itchy skin conditions responsive to topical corticosteroids such as eczema (atopic dermatitis), allergic/contact dermatitis and psoriasis (localized).

Mometasone is a topical corticosteroid that reduces inflammation, redness and itching in the skin. It works by suppressing the release of inflammatory mediators and decreasing immune overactivity locally.

For external use only. Apply a thin layer to the affected area once daily or as directed by the doctor; rub in gently. Use the smallest amount needed; avoid eyes, mouth and broken skin. Do not cover with airtight dressings unless prescribed; wash hands after application.

Burning or stinging at application site, itching, dryness, redness, skin thinning (atrophy), irritation, acne/folliculitis, stretch marks, increased hair growth

Use only on the area prescribed and for the shortest duration needed. Avoid use on face/groin/underarms unless advised; prolonged use may cause skin thinning and systemic steroid effects, especially under occlusion or on large areas. Do not use in untreated skin infections (bacterial, fungal, viral) or on open wounds. Stop and consult a doctor if severe irritation, worsening, or signs of infection occur. Use with caution in children; higher risk of systemic absorption. Not for ophthalmic use.

Generally minimal with topical use; increased risk of systemic corticosteroid effects if used with other corticosteroids (topical/oral/inhaled) or under occlusion over large areas. Avoid combining with other irritating topical agents on the same area unless advised.

Store at room temperature (below 25°C), away from heat and direct light. Do not freeze. Keep the tube tightly closed and out of reach of children.
