Moxoft-D Eye Drops

Moxoft-D Eye Drops contains Moxifloxacin (5mg/ml) + Dexamethasone (1mg/ml). Prescription required.

Bacterial eye infections (e.g., bacterial conjunctivitis, blepharitis) with associated inflammation; postoperative ocular infection prophylaxis where inflammation is present (as prescribed).

Moxifloxacin is a fluoroquinolone antibiotic that kills susceptible bacteria by inhibiting DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV. Dexamethasone is a corticosteroid that reduces eye inflammation, redness, swelling, and pain by suppressing inflammatory mediators.

For ophthalmic use only. Instill the prescribed number of drops into the affected eye(s) as directed by the doctor; typically used 3–4 times daily depending on severity. Wash hands, avoid touching the dropper tip, and keep eyes closed for 1–2 minutes after instillation; use with or without food. Remove contact lenses before use and reinsert only if advised.

Burning/stinging sensation, eye irritation, blurred vision (temporary), dryness, watery eyes, redness, itching, foreign body sensation, unpleasant taste

Do not use in viral (e.g., herpes simplex), fungal, or mycobacterial eye infections unless prescribed. Prolonged steroid use may increase intraocular pressure, cause glaucoma/cataract, delay wound healing, and increase risk of secondary infection; follow duration strictly. Seek urgent care for severe eye pain, vision changes, swelling, rash, or worsening symptoms. Use caution in patients with glaucoma; monitoring may be needed. Not for injection; avoid sharing the bottle.

Other ophthalmic drops/ointments (separate by 5–10 minutes; ointments last), medicines that increase intraocular pressure when combined with steroids (additive effect). Clinically significant systemic interactions are unlikely with topical use.

Store below 25°C, protect from light and moisture. Keep the bottle tightly closed; do not freeze. Discard if solution changes color/particles appear and preferably discard 4 weeks after opening.
