Taxim Oz Tablet contains Cefixime (200mg) + Ornidazole (500mg) and is used for bacterial infections. Prescription required.

Treatment of Bacterial infections

Taxim-OZ Tablet is a combination of two antibiotics: Cefixime and Ornidazole. Cefixime works by preventing the formation of the bacterial protective covering which is essential for the survival of bacteria in the human body. Ornidazole kills other infectious microorganisms in addition to bacteria by damaging their DNA. Together, they treat your infection effectively.

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Taxim-OZ Tablet should be taken with or after food.

Most side effects do not require any medical attention and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if they persist or if you’re worried about them

Finish the whole course even after you feel better — stopping early breeds resistant bacteria. Tell your doctor if you have ever had a severe reaction to penicillin; a small proportion of people react to both groups. Report severe or watery loose motions during or after the course rather than treating them yourself. Several medicines in this group are on Schedule H1 precisely because overuse drives antibiotic resistance. Take it only when a doctor has prescribed it for you. Finish the whole course even after you feel better. Do not drink any alcohol while taking metronidazole, ornidazole or tinidazole, or for the period after the course that your doctor states — the combination causes severe flushing, vomiting and a racing heart. Tetracyclines stain developing teeth and are avoided in young children and in pregnancy. Antibiotics do not work against colds, flu or most sore throats, which are caused by viruses.

Antacids, iron and zinc reduce absorption — separate them by a couple of hours. Tell your doctor if you take a blood thinner. Antacids, iron, zinc and calcium reduce the absorption of tetracyclines — separate them by a couple of hours.

Store below 30°C in the original pack, away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep out of the reach of children.
