Atorvastatin 80 mg
High cholesterol (hypercholesterolemia), mixed dyslipidemia, high triglycerides; prevention of cardiovascular events (heart attack, stroke) in high-risk patients
Atorvastatin is an HMG-CoA reductase inhibitor (statin). It reduces cholesterol synthesis in the liver, lowering LDL and triglycerides and modestly increasing HDL, thereby reducing atherosclerotic risk.
Take as directed by a doctor, usually once daily at the same time each day, with or without food. Swallow whole with water; continue diet/exercise advised for cholesterol control.
Common side effects of Atr 80 Tablet may include:
Contraindicated in active liver disease or unexplained persistent elevation of liver enzymes. Risk of muscle problems (myopathy/rhabdomyolysis) increases with higher doses and interacting drugs—seek medical help for unexplained muscle pain, tenderness, weakness, fever or dark urine. Monitor liver function if advised. Use caution in kidney disease, hypothyroidism, heavy alcohol use, and in the elderly. Avoid grapefruit juice in large amounts.
