Composition

Calamine 8% w/v, Zinc oxide 8% w/v, Diphenhydramine hydrochloride 1% w/v (typical Caladryl lotion composition; may vary by pack)

Uses of Caladryl Lotion

Itching and irritation due to insect bites, allergic skin rashes, urticaria, prickly heat, mild sunburn, chickenpox-associated itching, contact dermatitis

How it works

Calamine and zinc oxide have soothing and mild astringent/protective effects that calm irritated skin. Diphenhydramine is an antihistamine that reduces itching by blocking H1 receptors in the skin.

Directions for use

For external use only. Shake well and apply a thin layer to affected area 2-4 times daily or as directed. Avoid eyes, mouth and broken skin; wash hands after application.
