Itching and irritation due to insect bites, allergic skin rashes, urticaria, prickly heat, mild sunburn, chickenpox-associated itching, contact dermatitis
Calamine and zinc oxide have soothing and mild astringent/protective effects that calm irritated skin. Diphenhydramine is an antihistamine that reduces itching by blocking H1 receptors in the skin.
For external use only. Shake well and apply a thin layer to affected area 2-4 times daily or as directed. Avoid eyes, mouth and broken skin; wash hands after application.
Common side effects of Caladryl Lotion may include:
Do not apply on large areas, severely broken skin, or under occlusive dressings unless advised. Stop use and consult a doctor if rash worsens, signs of infection occur, or symptoms persist. Children: use cautiously and avoid ingestion.
