Treatment and prevention of vitamin B6 (pyridoxine) deficiency, peripheral neuropathy due to B6 deficiency, adjunct in certain drug-induced neuropathy (e.g., isoniazid use), nausea and vomiting of pregnancy under medical advice
Pyridoxine is converted to pyridoxal-5-phosphate, a coenzyme essential for amino acid metabolism and neurotransmitter synthesis. It supports normal nerve function and red blood cell formation, correcting symptoms caused by vitamin B6 deficiency.
Take as directed by the physician. Usually taken orally with water, with or without food; taking after food may reduce stomach upset. Do not exceed recommended dose and duration.
Nausea, stomach upset, headache, drowsiness, tingling/numbness (with high doses), skin rash
High-dose or prolonged use can cause sensory neuropathy; use only as prescribed. Inform doctor if you have kidney or liver disease. Seek medical help for allergic reactions (rash, swelling, breathing difficulty). Do not self-medicate high doses during pregnancy.
Levodopa (without carbidopa) may have reduced effect, Phenytoin, Phenobarbital, Isoniazid, Penicillamine, Oral contraceptives
Store below 25°C in a cool, dry place. Protect from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
