Allergic and inflammatory conditions, autoimmune disorders, asthma/COPD exacerbations (as directed), skin and eye inflammation (systemic use), cerebral edema and other steroid-responsive conditions
Dexamethasone is a corticosteroid that suppresses inflammation and immune responses by altering gene expression and reducing inflammatory mediators. It decreases swelling, redness, and allergic symptoms.
Take exactly as prescribed, preferably with food to reduce stomach upset. Do not stop suddenly after prolonged use; tapering may be required. Take at the same time each day if on regular therapy.
Common side effects of Decdan 0.5 Tablet may include:
Long-term use may cause adrenal suppression, osteoporosis, glaucoma/cataract, weight gain, infections, and delayed wound healing. Use caution in diabetes, hypertension, peptic ulcer disease, TB/other infections; avoid live vaccines during high-dose therapy. Seek help for fever, severe weakness, black stools, or vision changes.
