Fluticasone propionate 50 mcg per metered dose + Azelastine hydrochloride 140 mcg per metered dose (nasal spray)
Moderate to severe allergic rhinitis with nasal congestion, sneezing, runny nose and nasal itching when combination therapy is needed
Fluticasone reduces inflammation in the nasal mucosa. Azelastine is an antihistamine that blocks H1 receptors to reduce allergic symptoms. The combination provides faster and broader symptom control than either alone.
Use as prescribed; commonly 1 spray in each nostril twice daily. Shake/prime as per pack instructions, blow nose before use, avoid spraying into eyes. Use regularly; can be used with or without food.
Common side effects of Flomist Az Nasal Spray may include:
May cause drowsiness in some people; avoid driving if affected. Avoid alcohol and other sedatives if sleepy. Do not use in untreated nasal infections. Long-term steroid use may rarely cause glaucoma/cataract or adrenal suppression. Seek help for severe nosebleeds or vision changes.
