Mefenamic Acid 250 mg (dispersible tablet)
Relief of mild to moderate pain and inflammation such as dental pain, headache, muscle/joint pain, postoperative pain, and period pain (dysmenorrhea).
Mefenamic acid is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID). It blocks cyclo-oxygenase (COX) enzymes and reduces prostaglandin synthesis, thereby decreasing pain, fever, and inflammation.
Tablet (dispersible): dissolve the tablet in a small amount of water and consume immediately, or take as directed by a doctor. Preferably take after food to reduce stomach upset. Use the lowest effective dose for the shortest duration.
Common side effects of Meftal 250 DT Tablet may include:
Schedule H: use only on prescription. NSAIDs may cause stomach ulcer/bleeding—risk higher in elderly, with alcohol, smoking, or history of ulcer. Use with caution in kidney disease, liver disease, heart disease, dehydration, asthma/NSAID allergy, and high blood pressure. Stop and seek care for black stools, vomiting blood, severe abdominal pain, swelling, breathing difficulty, or severe skin rash. Not recommended in active peptic ulcer/GI bleeding.
