Sodium dihydrogen phosphate + Disodium hydrogen phosphate (as sodium phosphate enema; strength varies by pack/label)
Relief of constipation, bowel cleansing/evacuation before rectal/intestinal examinations or procedures
Sodium phosphate is a hyperosmotic laxative. It draws water into the colon, softening stool and increasing bowel distension, which stimulates peristalsis and leads to bowel evacuation.
Rectal use only. Use as directed on the label/by doctor; usually a single dose enema. Lie on your side, insert nozzle gently, squeeze bottle, and retain for a few minutes if possible until urge to pass stool. Do not use more than once in 24 hours unless advised; drink adequate fluids.
