Carbamazepine 200 mg
Treatment of epilepsy (partial seizures, generalized tonic-clonic seizures) and trigeminal neuralgia (facial nerve pain). Also used in some cases for neuropathic pain as advised by a doctor.
Carbamazepine is an antiepileptic that stabilizes overactive nerve membranes by blocking voltage-gated sodium channels. This reduces abnormal electrical activity in the brain (seizures) and decreases pain signal transmission in trigeminal neuralgia.
Take the tablet exactly as prescribed, preferably with food to reduce stomach upset. Swallow whole with water; do not stop suddenly as it may worsen seizures. Dose is individualized and often started low then increased; take at the same time each day.
