Betogain Syrup

Betogain Syrup contains Cyproheptadine (2mg/5ml) + Tricholine Citrate (0.275mg/5ml) + Sorbitol (3.575mg/5ml) and is used for appetite stimulant.

Appetite stimulant

Betogain Syrup is a combination of three medicines: cyproheptadine, tricholine citrate, and sorbitol. It is used to improve appetite. Cyproheptadine is an appetite stimulant that works by reducing the effect of serotonin, a chemical messenger in the hypothalamus that regulates appetite. Tricholine citrate is a lipotropic agent that helps remove fat from the liver and supports healthy liver function, which can improve digestion and appetite. Sorbitol acts as a syrup base and also works as an osmotic laxative to relieve constipation.

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Measure it with a measuring cup and take it by mouth. Shake well before use. Betogain Syrup may be taken with or without food.

Most side effects do not require any medical attention and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if they persist or if you’re worried about them

Older antihistamines cause marked drowsiness — do not drive or operate machinery until you know how this affects you. Tell your doctor promptly about any change in mood, sleep, agitation or unusual thoughts while taking montelukast; this is uncommon but recognised. This relieves the symptoms of an allergy; it does not treat the cause, and it is not a treatment for an acute asthma attack. Seek emergency care for swelling of the lips, tongue or throat, or difficulty breathing. A liver supplement does not treat the cause of liver disease. Alcohol, weight, viral hepatitis and medicines are what have to be addressed. Stop alcohol completely if you have any liver condition. Report yellowing of the eyes or skin, dark urine, swelling of the abdomen or confusion without delay. Keep your liver function tests and follow-up appointments. Drink plenty of water while taking any laxative, particularly the fibre-based ones — without it they can make constipation worse. Do not use stimulant laxatives daily over long periods without medical advice; the bowel becomes reliant on them. See a doctor if constipation is new and persistent in an adult over forty, or comes with blood, weight loss or severe pain.

Alcohol, sleeping tablets and other sedating medicines add to the drowsiness. Tell your doctor about all cold and cough preparations — many already contain an antihistamine. Tell your doctor about every medicine and supplement you take — the liver processes most of them. Laxatives can reduce the absorption of other medicines taken at the same time.

Store below 30°C, away from direct sunlight. Do not freeze. Once opened, use it within the period printed on the pack. Keep out of the reach of children.
