Hypertension (high blood pressure), especially when single medicine is insufficient

Telmisartan blocks angiotensin II (ARB), reducing blood vessel constriction and aldosterone effects. Cilnidipine is a calcium channel blocker that relaxes blood vessels; together they provide better blood pressure control.

Take as prescribed, usually once daily. Can be taken with or without food; take at a fixed time daily. Do not stop abruptly; periodic BP and kidney function monitoring may be needed.

Dizziness, headache, flushing, ankle swelling, fatigue, nausea, low blood pressure, increased potassium

Avoid in pregnancy (ARBs can harm fetus). Use caution in kidney disease, dehydration, low BP, and in patients with high potassium. Periodic monitoring of BP, kidney function and electrolytes is advised.

Potassium supplements/salt substitutes, potassium-sparing diuretics (risk hyperkalemia), NSAIDs (may reduce effect and affect kidneys), other antihypertensives (additive hypotension), lithium (increased toxicity), grapefruit juice (may affect cilnidipine)

Store below 25°C, protect from moisture and light.
