Fever and mild to moderate pain such as headache, body ache, toothache, backache, sore throat, and fever with cold/flu.

Paracetamol works centrally to reduce pain and fever by inhibiting prostaglandin synthesis in the brain. It does not significantly reduce inflammation at usual doses.

Take as prescribed. Swallow with water, with or without food. Maintain a 4-6 hour gap between doses; do not exceed the maximum daily dose recommended by a doctor (commonly up to 3,000-4,000 mg/day in adults depending on risk factors).

Nausea, stomach upset, rash (rare), elevated liver enzymes (rare)

Do not exceed dose; overdose can cause life-threatening liver failure. Avoid alcohol and other paracetamol-containing medicines. Use with caution in liver disease, chronic alcoholism, or severe malnutrition. Seek care for allergic reactions or persistent fever/pain.
