What is this medicine used for?
Type 2 diabetes mellitus: to improve glycaemic control as an add-on to diet and exercise in adults when treatment with both dapagliflozin and metformin is appropriate.
What are the side effects?
Nausea,diarrhoea,abdominal pain,loss of appetite,metallic taste,genital fungal infection (thrush),urinary tract infection,increased urination,thirst,dizziness,low blood sugar (especially with insulin/sulfonylureas)
How does this medicine work?
Dapagliflozin is an SGLT2 inhibitor that lowers blood glucose by increasing urinary glucose excretion via the kidneys and also promotes mild diuresis. Metformin reduces hepatic glucose production and improves insulin sensitivity, decreasing intestinal glucose absorption and improving peripheral glucose uptake.
How should I use this medicine?
Oral tablet. Take exactly as prescribed, usually once daily (or as directed) with food to reduce stomach upset; swallow whole with water. Maintain adequate hydration; follow diet/exercise advice and monitor blood glucose as advised.

Store below 25°C in a dry place, protected from light and moisture. Keep in original blister pack and out of reach of children.
