Telsartan 80 mg Tablet

Telsartan 80 mg Tablet contains Telmisartan (80mg). Prescription required.

Treatment of hypertension (high blood pressure); reduction of cardiovascular risk (heart attack/stroke) in high-risk patients when appropriate.

Telmisartan is an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB) that selectively blocks AT1 receptors. This relaxes blood vessels, lowers blood pressure and reduces strain on the heart and kidneys.

Oral tablet. Take as prescribed, usually once daily at the same time each day, with or without food. Swallow with water; do not stop abruptly without medical advice.

Dizziness, headache, fatigue, nausea, diarrhea, back pain, low blood pressure (hypotension), increased potassium (hyperkalemia), raised creatinine

Not recommended in pregnancy (can harm the fetus) and avoid during breastfeeding unless advised. Use caution in kidney disease, liver impairment, dehydration/low salt state, heart failure, or history of angioedema. Monitor blood pressure, kidney function and serum potassium; risk of hypotension especially after first dose in volume-depleted patients.

ACE inhibitors or aliskiren (higher risk of kidney problems/hyperkalemia; avoid especially in diabetes), potassium supplements/potassium-sparing diuretics (spironolactone/amiloride) and salt substitutes (hyperkalemia), NSAIDs (reduced effect and kidney risk), diuretics (additive hypotension), lithium (increased lithium levels/toxicity)

Store below 25°C in a dry place, protected from moisture and light. Keep in original pack and out of reach of children.
