Daily cleanser for oily/acne-prone skin; helps reduce acne/pimples, blackheads and whiteheads; helps unclog pores and control excess oil
How It Works
Salicylic acid is a beta-hydroxy acid (BHA) that penetrates into pores and exfoliates by loosening dead skin cells and sebum plugs. It helps unclog pores, reduce comedones (blackheads/whiteheads) and calm acne-related inflammation.
Directions for Use
For external use only. Wet face, take a small amount, gently massage over face (avoid eyes/lips) for 20–30 seconds, then rinse and pat dry. Use once daily to start; may increase to twice daily if tolerated. Follow with moisturizer and daytime sunscreen.
Side Effects
Dryness, peeling/flaking, mild burning or stinging, redness, irritation, itching
Warnings & Precautions
Avoid contact with eyes, eyelids, lips and broken/irritated skin; rinse well with water if contact occurs. If excessive dryness/irritation develops, reduce frequency or stop and consult a dermatologist. Use sunscreen as exfoliants can increase sun sensitivity. Do not use in children unless advised by a doctor. People with known salicylate/aspirin allergy should use with caution. Do not use along with multiple strong exfoliants/peels unless advised.
Drug Interactions
May increase irritation when used with other exfoliants/acne actives such as retinoids (tretinoin/adapalene), benzoyl peroxide, AHAs (glycolic/lactic acid), other salicylic acid products, physical scrubs; concomitant use with harsh soaps/astringents can increase dryness
