Tobaren-D Drops

Tobaren-D Drops contains Tobramycin 0.3% w/v + Dexamethasone 0.1% w/v (ophthalmic drops). Prescription required.

Bacterial eye infections with inflammation (e.g., bacterial conjunctivitis, blepharitis, keratitis) where a steroid-antibiotic combination is indicated; post-operative ocular inflammation with risk of infection.

Tobramycin is an aminoglycoside antibiotic that stops bacterial protein synthesis, killing susceptible bacteria. Dexamethasone is a corticosteroid that reduces redness, swelling, itching and inflammation in the eye.

For ophthalmic use only. Instill the prescribed number of drops into the affected eye(s) as advised by the doctor; typically used 3–4 times daily depending on severity. Wash hands, avoid touching the dropper tip, and keep the eye closed for 1–2 minutes after instillation; remove contact lenses before use and reinsert only if advised.

Burning/stinging, eye irritation, blurred vision, watery eyes, redness, itching, foreign body sensation

Use only under medical supervision. Prolonged steroid use may increase intraocular pressure, cause glaucoma, cataract, delayed wound healing, and raise risk of secondary infections (including fungal/viral); avoid use in viral infections of the eye (e.g., herpes simplex), fungal eye disease, or untreated purulent infections unless prescribed. Seek care if pain, worsening redness, vision changes, or no improvement occurs. Use caution in children and in patients with glaucoma; do not use longer than advised.

Other ophthalmic medicines (space by 5–10 minutes), other topical/systemic corticosteroids, medicines that may raise intraocular pressure when used with steroids; additive nephro/ototoxicity is unlikely with eye drops but caution if significant systemic aminoglycoside exposure.

Store at or below 25°C in a cool, dry place; protect from light. Do not freeze. Keep the bottle tightly closed. Discard 4 weeks after opening or as per label.
