Treatment of hypertension (high blood pressure), prevention and treatment of angina pectoris (chest pain) including chronic stable angina
Diltiazem is a calcium channel blocker that relaxes blood vessels by reducing calcium entry into vascular smooth muscle. It also decreases heart rate and myocardial oxygen demand, helping lower blood pressure and prevent angina.
Take as prescribed by your doctor, usually once daily. Swallow the controlled-release capsule whole; do not crush or chew. Can be taken with or without food, preferably at the same time each day.

Use with caution in low blood pressure, heart failure, conduction disorders (AV block), slow heart rate, and liver impairment. Do not stop suddenly without medical advice. Monitor blood pressure and pulse regularly. Seek help for severe dizziness, fainting, shortness of breath, or worsening swelling.
