Important Warnings

Do not exceed the recommended dose; accidental iron overdose can be dangerous, especially in children—keep out of reach. Use with caution in patients with iron overload (e.g., haemochromatosis/haemosiderosis), repeated blood transfusions, peptic ulcer disease or inflammatory bowel disease. If you have anaemia from causes other than iron deficiency, consult a doctor before use. Stop and seek medical help if you develop allergic reactions.

Antacids
calcium supplements and dairy reduce iron absorption; tetracyclines and fluoroquinolones (e.g.
doxycycline
ciprofloxacin) interact—separate by 2–4 hours; levothyroxine—separate by at least 4 hours; bisphosphonates (alendronate)
penicillamine
methyldopa—separate dosing; tea/coffee reduce absorption.
