Ibuprofen is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID). It inhibits cyclooxygenase (COX-1 and COX-2) enzymes, reducing prostaglandin production to lower pain, fever, and inflammation.
Take as prescribed by doctor. Usually taken after food or with milk to reduce stomach upset. Swallow tablet with water; use the lowest effective dose for the shortest duration.

May cause stomach ulcer/bleeding; higher risk in elderly and with alcohol or history of ulcers. Use with caution in kidney disease, liver disease, uncontrolled hypertension, heart disease, asthma sensitive to NSAIDs, and dehydration. Avoid in third trimester of pregnancy unless advised. Stop and seek care if black stools, vomiting blood, severe rash, wheezing, or swelling occurs.
