Important Warnings

Do not use in hypercalcemia, ventricular fibrillation, severe digitalis toxicity; use extreme caution with digoxin. Administer slowly; monitor calcium levels and ECG. Avoid IM in infants/children if possible due to tissue injury risk. Extravasation can cause severe tissue damage.

Drug Interactions

Calcium Gluconate Injection may interact with the following:

Digoxin (increased arrhythmia risk)
calcium channel blockers (reduced effect)
thiazide diuretics (hypercalcemia risk)
ceftriaxone in neonates (avoid co-administration due to precipitation risk)
tetracyclines (reduced absorption if oral given later)
