Glipizide 5 mg + Metformin 500 mg
Type 2 diabetes mellitus (to control high blood sugar when diet and exercise are not enough)
Glipizide (a sulfonylurea) increases insulin release from the pancreas. Metformin (a biguanide) reduces glucose production in the liver and improves insulin sensitivity, helping lower blood sugar.
Take with food as prescribed, usually once or twice daily. Swallow whole with water. Do not skip meals to reduce risk of low blood sugar.
Common side effects of Dibizide M Tablet may include:
Hypoglycemia risk (higher with missed meals, strenuous exercise, alcohol). Metformin may rarely cause lactic acidosis; risk increases with kidney disease, dehydration, severe infection, or heavy alcohol use. Inform doctor before surgery/contrast dye tests. Monitor blood sugar and kidney function.
