Allergic rhinitis (sneezing, runny/blocked nose, itchy/watery eyes), allergy-related cough/wheeze and prevention of allergy-triggered asthma symptoms
Levocetirizine is an H1-antihistamine that blocks histamine to relieve sneezing, itching and runny nose. Montelukast is a leukotriene receptor antagonist that reduces airway/allergic inflammation and helps prevent wheeze and nasal symptoms.
Oral syrup; take the measured dose using a measuring cup/spoon, usually once daily (often in the evening) or as prescribed. Can be taken with or without food; shake well before use.
Drowsiness, dizziness, dry mouth, headache, fatigue, abdominal pain, nausea, diarrhea
May cause drowsiness—avoid driving/alcohol if affected. Use with caution in kidney disease (levocetirizine dose adjustment may be needed). Montelukast has been associated with mood/behavior changes (agitation, sleep disturbances, depression, suicidal thoughts); stop and seek medical help if these occur. Not for sudden acute asthma attack; keep rescue inhaler as advised. Use in children only as per age-appropriate dose prescribed.
Alcohol and other CNS depressants (increased drowsiness), sedating antihistamines, other leukotriene antagonists (duplicate therapy). Rifampicin/phenobarbital/phenytoin may reduce montelukast effect. Theophylline may lower montelukast levels slightly.
Store below 25°C, protect from light and moisture. Keep bottle tightly closed; do not freeze. Keep out of reach of children.
