Known side effects of Doxy 1 L.Dr. Forte Cap include Nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, abdominal pain, indigestion, loss of appetite, headache, dizziness, photosensitivity (sunburn), skin rash, oesophagitis/heartburn, vaginal/oral candidiasis. Not everyone experiences these side effects.

Important Warnings

Not recommended in pregnancy and in children below 8 years due to risk of teeth discoloration and effects on bone growth. Use with caution in liver disease, history of oesophageal irritation/ulcer, and in patients with myasthenia gravis. Can cause severe sun sensitivity—use sunscreen and avoid excessive sunlight. Stop and seek medical help if severe diarrhoea, allergic reaction, or signs of intracranial hypertension (persistent headache/blurred vision) occur.

Drug Interactions

Doxy 1 L.Dr. Forte Cap may interact with the following:

Antacids containing aluminium/magnesium
calcium supplements
iron/zinc supplements (reduced absorption)
warfarin (increased bleeding risk)
isotretinoin/retinoids (increased risk of intracranial hypertension)
penicillins (may reduce effect)
enzyme inducers like phenytoin/carbamazepine/barbiturates (reduced doxycycline levels)
oral contraceptives (reduced efficacy—use additional contraception)
