A substitute contains the same active ingredient (salt), in the same strength, as Doxy 1 L.Dr. Forte Cap. The medicine inside is the same — the brand name, manufacturer and price are what differ.
All medicines sold in India, branded or generic, must meet the quality standards set by the national drug regulator (CDSCO). A lower price does not mean lower quality.
Please confirm with your doctor or pharmacist before switching brands — they will check that the strength and form match your prescription.
Not recommended in pregnancy and in children below 8 years due to risk of teeth discoloration and effects on bone growth. Use with caution in liver disease, history of oesophageal irritation/ulcer, and in patients with myasthenia gravis. Can cause severe sun sensitivity—use sunscreen and avoid excessive sunlight. Stop and seek medical help if severe diarrhoea, allergic reaction, or signs of intracranial hypertension (persistent headache/blurred vision) occur.
