Bisacodyl is a stimulant laxative that increases peristalsis and promotes accumulation of water in the colon. The enteric coating helps it pass through the stomach and act mainly in the intestine.
Take by mouth as directed, usually at bedtime for next-morning effect (6-12 hours). Swallow whole; do not crush/chew. Avoid milk, antacids, or PPIs within 1 hour as they may dissolve the coating early.

Do not use daily for prolonged periods without medical advice. Avoid in intestinal obstruction, acute abdomen, severe dehydration, or undiagnosed abdominal pain. Stop and consult doctor if rectal bleeding occurs.
