Oral Rehydration Salts (ORS) powder (WHO formula): Glucose anhydrous 13.5 g + Sodium chloride 2.6 g + Potassium chloride 1.5 g + Trisodium citrate dihydrate 2.9 g per 1 L solution (approx composition)

ORS provides an optimal balance of glucose and electrolytes to enhance sodium and water absorption via intestinal glucose-sodium co-transport. This restores hydration and corrects electrolyte loss during diarrhea or vomiting.
Dissolve the entire sachet in the specified amount of clean drinking water as per pack (commonly 200 ml or 1 L depending on sachet size). Stir until fully dissolved; do not add sugar or salt. Sip frequently; use within 24 hours (discard leftover). Continue feeding/breastfeeding.
Common side effects of Electral Assorted Powder (4.4 Gm) may include:
Seek medical help if severe dehydration, persistent vomiting, blood in stool, high fever, very little urine, lethargy, or diarrhea in infants/elderly. Use caution in severe kidney disease or heart failure where fluid/salt intake is restricted. Do not prepare with milk, juice, or carbonated drinks.
