Before you take it
Amodep 5 Tablet may be unsafe to use during pregnancy.<br>Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.
Amodep 5 Tablet is probably safe to use during lactation. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent a significant risk to the baby.

Amodep 5 Tablet is a calcium channel blocker. It works by relaxing blood vessels which makes the heart more efficient at pumping blood throughout the body.
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Amodep AT Tablet may be taken with or without food.

Amodep 5 Tablet should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Amodep 5 Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.<br>Amodep 5 Tablet is started at a lower dose in patients with liver disease and further increased slowly with careful monitoring.

Ankle swelling is the commonest reason people stop this medicine — tell your doctor, as there are ways to manage it. Tell your doctor if your chest pain becomes more frequent or more severe after starting. Swollen, tender or overgrown gums should be reported; good brushing and regular dental care reduce the risk.
Grapefruit juice raises the level of some of these medicines in the blood — avoid it. Tell your doctor about other blood pressure medicines, and about simvastatin in particular.
Store below 30°C in the original pack, away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep out of the reach of children.
