Important Warnings

Not for type 1 diabetes or diabetic ketoacidosis. Risk of dehydration and low blood pressure—use caution in elderly, on diuretics, or with low fluid intake. May increase risk of genital infections; maintain hygiene and seek care for pain, swelling, fever or discharge. Monitor kidney function; not recommended in severe renal impairment/dialysis (use per current label/doctor advice). Stop and seek urgent care if symptoms of ketoacidosis occur (nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, rapid breathing, unusual fatigue) even if sugars are not very high; temporarily withhold during major surgery or prolonged fasting/acute illness. Rare risk of serious perineal infection (Fournier’s gangrene).

Drug Interactions

Empaben-10MG Tab may interact with the following:

Diuretics (increased dehydration/hypotension)
insulin or sulfonylureas (increased risk of hypoglycaemia—may need dose adjustment)
antihypertensives (additive BP lowering)
lithium (may reduce lithium levels)
other SGLT2 inhibitors (avoid duplication).

Always tell your doctor about all medicines you are taking, including over-the-counter drugs and supplements.
