Glimepiride 1 mg
Type 2 diabetes mellitus (adult) to help control blood sugar, usually along with diet and exercise; may be used alone or with other antidiabetic medicines
Glimepiride is a sulfonylurea that stimulates insulin release from pancreatic beta cells. It also helps improve peripheral insulin sensitivity, thereby lowering blood glucose levels.
Take exactly as prescribed, usually once daily with breakfast or the first main meal. Swallow with water; do not skip meals to reduce risk of low blood sugar. Dose is individualized based on glucose levels.

May cause hypoglycaemia—risk increases with missed meals, strenuous exercise, alcohol, or with other antidiabetics; keep fast-acting sugar handy. Use caution in elderly, malnourished, or those with kidney/liver impairment. Not indicated for type 1 diabetes or diabetic ketoacidosis. Seek urgent care for severe hypoglycaemia, jaundice, or allergic reactions. Monitor blood glucose regularly.
