Paracetamol (Acetaminophen) 125 mg suppository
Relief of fever and mild to moderate pain in children, including pain due to teething, headache, sore throat, earache, post-immunisation fever, cold/flu symptoms.
Paracetamol reduces fever by acting on the temperature-regulating center in the brain and lowers prostaglandin production. It also relieves pain by inhibiting pain-mediating chemical messengers in the central nervous system.
For rectal use only. Insert the suppository into the rectum as directed by a doctor, usually after bowel movement if possible. Use the lowest effective dose at appropriate intervals; do not exceed the recommended total daily dose. Avoid using along with other paracetamol-containing products unless advised.
Common side effects of Rectol 125 Suppository may include:
Do not use in case of known allergy to paracetamol. Use with caution in liver disease, chronic alcohol use, malnutrition or dehydration; overdose can cause severe liver damage. Seek medical help if fever persists >3 days, pain persists >5 days, or if signs of allergic reaction (rash, swelling, breathing difficulty) occur. Avoid repeated dosing beyond recommended limits.
