Telmisartan (20mg)
Treatment of hypertension (high blood pressure); reduction of cardiovascular risk (heart attack/stroke) in high-risk patients when appropriate
Telmisartan is an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB) that blocks AT1 receptors. This relaxes blood vessels, lowers blood pressure, and reduces strain on the heart.
Take as directed by a doctor, usually once daily at the same time each day. Can be taken with or without food. Swallow tablet whole with water; do not stop suddenly without medical advice.
Common side effects of Telefix 20 Tab may include:
Avoid in pregnancy (can harm unborn baby). Use caution in kidney disease, liver impairment, dehydration/low salt states, and in patients with high potassium. Monitor blood pressure, kidney function (creatinine), and serum potassium especially after starting or dose changes. Not recommended with aliskiren in diabetes; caution in bilateral renal artery stenosis. Seek help for severe dizziness/fainting, swelling/angioedema, or reduced urine output.

A substitute contains the same active ingredient (salt), in the same strength, as Telefix 20 Tab. The medicine inside is the same — the brand name, manufacturer and price are what differ.
All medicines sold in India, branded or generic, must meet the quality standards set by the national drug regulator (CDSCO). A lower price does not mean lower quality.
Please confirm with your doctor or pharmacist before switching brands — they will check that the strength and form match your prescription.
