Telmisartan is an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB). It blocks AT1 receptors, causing relaxation of blood vessels and reduced aldosterone effects, thereby lowering blood pressure and reducing strain on the heart.
Tablet for oral use. Take exactly as prescribed, usually once daily at the same time, with or without food. Swallow whole with water; do not stop abruptly without medical advice.

Avoid use in pregnancy (can harm the fetus). Use with caution in kidney or liver impairment, dehydration/volume depletion, and in patients with high potassium. Monitor blood pressure, kidney function (creatinine) and serum potassium, especially after starting or dose changes. Seek medical help for fainting, severe dizziness, swelling of face/lips, or reduced urine output.
