Monograph
Nifedipine (0.3%w/w) + Lidocaine (1.5%w/w)
Topical treatment for anorectal conditions such as hemorrhoids (piles), anal fissures, and associated pain, itching, burning and inflammation.
This is a topical anorectal preparation that typically works by reducing local inflammation and swelling, providing pain relief and soothing irritation in the anal area. Exact mechanism depends on the active ingredients in the formulation.
For external use only. Clean and dry the affected area, then apply a thin layer to the anal region as directed by a doctor, usually 1–2 times daily (often after bowel movement and at bedtime). Wash hands before and after application; avoid contact with eyes and mouth.
Local burning, irritation, itching, redness, dryness, allergic rash
Do not use if allergic to any ingredient. Avoid prolonged use unless advised by a doctor. Consult a doctor if symptoms persist >7 days, bleeding is present, severe pain occurs, or infection is suspected. Use with caution on broken skin; stop use if severe irritation or rash develops. Keep out of reach of children.
No major interactions expected with topical use; however, avoid using multiple anorectal/skin products simultaneously on the same area unless advised (may increase irritation).
Store below 25°C in a cool, dry place away from direct light and moisture. Keep the tube tightly closed.
