Important Warnings

Schedule H: use only on prescription. Do not stop abruptly (may worsen angina or cause rebound hypertension). Use with caution in asthma/COPD (may precipitate bronchospasm), diabetes (may mask hypoglycemia symptoms), peripheral vascular disease, depression, thyroid disorders, myasthenia gravis, and in elderly. Contraindicated in severe bradycardia, second/third-degree heart block, cardiogenic shock, and uncontrolled heart failure. Monitor BP and pulse regularly; seek care if fainting, wheezing, or very slow heartbeat occurs.

verapamil/diltiazem (risk of severe bradycardia/heart block)
digoxin (bradycardia)
clonidine (rebound hypertension if clonidine stopped first)
NSAIDs (may reduce BP-lowering effect)
insulin/oral antidiabetics (masks hypoglycemia)
antiarrhythmics like amiodarone (bradycardia)
anesthetic agents (enhanced hypotension)
