Important Warnings

May cause dizziness or fainting especially after the first dose or dose increases; rise slowly from sitting/lying and avoid driving if dizzy. Use with caution in patients with low blood pressure, severe liver impairment, or severe kidney disease. Inform eye surgeon before cataract/glaucoma surgery due to risk of intraoperative floppy iris syndrome (IFIS). Not indicated for women or children. Seek medical help for allergic reactions or prolonged painful erection (priapism).

Other alpha-blockers (additive hypotension)
PDE5 inhibitors like sildenafil/tadalafil (low BP)
antihypertensives (additive BP lowering)
strong CYP3A4 inhibitors (e.g.
ketoconazole
clarithromycin
ritonavir) and CYP2D6 inhibitors (e.g.
paroxetine) may increase tamsulosin levels
cimetidine may increase levels
warfarin (monitor; possible interaction)
