Readings may be inaccurate with poor circulation, cold extremities, low blood pressure, movement/shivering, dark nail polish/artificial nails, bright light, anemia, carbon monoxide poisoning, methemoglobinemia, and in some arrhythmias. Seek urgent care if SpO2 is persistently low or symptoms (breathlessness, chest pain, bluish lips) occur even with normal readings. Keep out of reach of children; choking hazard if small parts/batteries are accessible.
