Treatment of acne (acne vulgaris) including blackheads, whiteheads and inflammatory pimples

Benzoyl peroxide releases active oxygen on the skin, which kills acne-causing bacteria (Cutibacterium acnes). It also has mild keratolytic and comedolytic action that helps unclog pores and reduce inflammation.

For external use only. Clean and dry the affected area, then apply a thin layer once daily initially; may increase to twice daily as tolerated. Avoid eyes, lips, nostrils and broken/irritated skin. Moisturizer and sunscreen may be used; wash hands after application.

Dryness, peeling, redness, burning/stinging, itching, irritation, contact dermatitis

May cause skin irritation and increased sensitivity to sunlight; use sunscreen and limit sun exposure. Can bleach hair and colored fabrics. Stop use and consult a doctor if severe redness, swelling, blistering or allergic reaction occurs. Use cautiously with other topical acne products (retinoids, salicylic acid) to avoid excessive irritation.

Other topical irritants/peeling agents (tretinoin/adapalene, salicylic acid, sulfur/resorcinol), alcohol-based astringents/cosmetics; may inactivate/affect stability of topical dapsone (may cause temporary yellow/orange discoloration when used together)

Store below 25°C in a cool, dry place away from heat and direct sunlight. Keep tube tightly closed and out of reach of children.
