Relief of allergy symptoms in seasonal allergic rhinitis (hay fever) such as sneezing, runny/blocked nose, itchy/watery eyes; also used for chronic idiopathic urticaria (hives) with itching and wheals.

Fexofenadine is a second-generation antihistamine that selectively blocks peripheral H1 receptors. It reduces the effects of histamine released during allergic reactions, relieving sneezing, itching, watery eyes and hives with minimal sedation.

Oral tablet. Usual adult dose: 180 mg once daily or as directed by physician. Take with water, with or without food. Avoid taking with fruit juices (apple/orange/grapefruit) and keep a 2-hour gap from aluminium/magnesium antacids.

Headache, dizziness, nausea, fatigue, drowsiness (rare), dry mouth, indigestion

Do not exceed recommended dose. Use with caution in kidney impairment and elderly. Seek medical advice if symptoms persist/worsen or if signs of severe allergy occur. May rarely cause dizziness—use caution while driving if affected. Not intended for acute severe allergic reactions (anaphylaxis).

Fruit juices (apple/orange/grapefruit) may reduce absorption, aluminium/magnesium antacids reduce absorption, erythromycin may increase levels, ketoconazole may increase levels, ritonavir may increase levels

Store below 25°C in a dry place, protected from moisture and light. Keep out of reach of children.
