Prevention (prophylaxis) of angina pectoris (chest pain) due to coronary artery disease; may be used as adjunct in chronic stable angina as per physician advice
How It Works
Glyceryl trinitrate is converted to nitric oxide in vascular smooth muscle, increasing cGMP and causing vasodilation. This reduces venous return (preload) and myocardial oxygen demand and also dilates coronary arteries to improve blood flow.
