High cholesterol (hyperlipidaemia), mixed dyslipidaemia, prevention of heart attack and stroke in high-risk patients

Rosuvastatin is a statin that blocks HMG-CoA reductase, reducing cholesterol production in the liver. It lowers LDL and triglycerides and modestly raises HDL, helping reduce plaque formation and cardiovascular risk.

Take exactly as prescribed, usually once daily at the same time, with or without food. Swallow whole with water; continue diet and exercise advised by your doctor.

Headache, muscle pain, weakness, abdominal pain, nausea, constipation, dizziness, increased liver enzymes

Risk of muscle injury (myopathy/rhabdomyolysis) increases with high doses, kidney disease, hypothyroidism, or interacting medicines; report unexplained muscle pain or dark urine. Monitor liver function; avoid in active liver disease. Use caution in diabetes risk, alcohol use, and elderly. Not recommended in pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Cyclosporine, gemfibrozil and other fibrates, niacin, macrolide antibiotics, azole antifungals, HIV/HCV protease inhibitors, warfarin (INR changes), colchicine, antacids containing aluminium/magnesium (separate dosing)

Store below 25°C, protected from moisture and light, keep in original pack and out of reach of children.
