Clobanil 10MG

Clobanil 10MG contains Clobazam 10 mg (tablet). Prescription required.

Treatment of anxiety disorders (short-term); adjunctive therapy for epilepsy/seizure disorders (including Lennox-Gastaut syndrome) as prescribed by a neurologist/physician.

Clobazam is a benzodiazepine that enhances the effect of GABA, an inhibitory neurotransmitter in the brain, by acting on GABA-A receptors. This reduces abnormal nerve activity, producing anxiolytic, sedative and anticonvulsant effects.

Tablet taken by mouth exactly as prescribed. Can be taken with or without food; take at the same time each day. Do not stop suddenly—dose should be tapered under medical supervision. Avoid driving or operating machinery until you know how it affects you.

Drowsiness, dizziness, tiredness, sedation, unsteadiness/ataxia, slurred speech, confusion, memory impairment, constipation, nausea

Prescription-only benzodiazepine; may cause dependence, tolerance and withdrawal—use the lowest effective dose for the shortest duration. Can cause excessive sedation and respiratory depression, especially with opioids, alcohol or other CNS depressants. Use caution in elderly, liver disease, respiratory disorders (e.g., COPD, sleep apnea), depression or suicidal ideation. Not recommended for abrupt discontinuation. May impair alertness—avoid driving. Inform doctor if pregnant/breastfeeding.

Alcohol and other CNS depressants (opioids, sedating antihistamines, antipsychotics) increase sedation/respiratory depression; CYP2C19 inhibitors (e.g., omeprazole, fluconazole, fluvoxamine) may increase active metabolite levels; enzyme inducers (e.g., carbamazepine, phenytoin, phenobarbital, rifampicin) may reduce effect; valproate may increase sedation; additive effects with other antiepileptics.

Store below 25°C in a dry place, protected from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
