Samlokind-2.5 contains S-Amlodipine (2.5mg). Prescription required.

Hypertension (high blood pressure), Chronic stable angina (chest pain), Vasospastic (Prinzmetal’s) angina

Amlodipine is a dihydropyridine calcium channel blocker. It relaxes blood vessels by inhibiting calcium entry into vascular smooth muscle, lowering blood pressure and reducing the heart’s oxygen demand to help prevent angina.

Take by mouth as prescribed, usually once daily at the same time each day. Can be taken with or without food; swallow tablet with water. Do not stop abruptly without medical advice.

Swelling of ankles/feet (edema), headache, dizziness, flushing, fatigue, palpitations, nausea, abdominal pain, sleepiness

Use with caution in liver impairment (may need lower dose). May cause dizziness—avoid driving/operating machinery if affected. Monitor for excessive fall in blood pressure, worsening chest pain at start or dose increase, and swelling. Caution in heart failure and severe aortic stenosis. Not a substitute for emergency treatment of acute chest pain.

Other antihypertensives (additive BP lowering), CYP3A4 inhibitors (e.g., clarithromycin, erythromycin, ketoconazole, ritonavir) may increase amlodipine levels, CYP3A4 inducers (e.g., rifampicin, phenytoin, carbamazepine) may reduce effect, simvastatin (limit dose as per prescriber), grapefruit juice (may increase levels in some patients)

Store below 25°C, in a dry place away from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
